Heavy Oil - Partial Upgrading

Upgrading bitumen for use in our energy system can be costly and energy intensive, generating emissions and other environmental impacts. Processes and technology that can partially upgrade bitumen while it is traveling to refineries may reduce both production costs and the environmental impact of the hydrocarbon energy system.
