Scaling/Fouling Mechanism and Mitigation Strategies in Coal or Biomass Gasification Systems and Wastewater Treatment in Coal-fired or Co-fired Power Plants

The proposed research focused on water and wastewater treatment in coal and biomass gasification systems and in coal-fired or co-fired power plants: (1) the scaling and fouling challenges from process water in the coal and biomass gasification systems, and (2) wastewater treatment (settling of fine particulate matter and effective/efficient removal of heavy metals in the wastewater) in coal-fired and coal co-fired power plants.
