April Outreach Highlights

Posted on

With the snow finally melting, our outreach team has been splashing through Edmonton this month! In April, we visited 27 classes from 14 unique schools, reaching over 630 students in the Edmonton area. That’s an average of 6.75 visits per week -- our highest average yet! We also participated in 3 Earth Day events and premiered 4 new videos on our YouTube channel, reaching an additional 218 members of the public.

With 8 visits, our most popular program was Become an Earth Doctor, where students learn how scientists heal the Earth through land reclamation. Not far behind with 7 visits was Science Storytime, where a FES scientist reads a storybook and answers science questions.

In the month ahead we’ll be hosting our biggest event of the year, Science Rendezvous, coming to the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton on May 10! We’ll also be continuing to visit classrooms across the city.

See you at the end of May for another outreach report!
