you start developing your project with the intention of receiving a
MicroFIT Contract.

Eligibility Requirements
- Project must be located in Ontario
- Must not be part of an existing Ontario Power Authority Contract.
- Projects must be connected directly or indirectly to a distribution system.
- Must have metering suitable for data collection and payment calculation and requires a separate meter.
Steps to Getting a Contract
Step 1: Submitting an Application
- register to create your own “My microFIT home page”
- create and submit an application for the microFIT project
- receive a “conditional offer of microFIT contract”
Step 2: Getting Connected
- discuss connection options with your local distribution company
- submit a connection request form to your local distribution company
- install your project after receiving all approvals and permits
- complete an electrical safety inspection of your project
- work with you local distribution company to finalize your connection and metering
Step 3: Accepting Your Contract
- receive a microFIT contract offer notification from the OPA
- log in to you’re my microFIT contract offer
- choose to accept and execute the contract, following instructions provided
